Endorsement Process

OUR PROCESS

As a statewide organization, OneAmerica Votes (OAV) makes endorsements with the goal of increasing the power and voice of immigrant and refugee communities in government. OneAmerica Votes must be mindful of how we allocate our resources across Washington State which means not every candidate requesting an endorsement will get an interview. The OneAmerica Votes endorsement process consists of 4 parts.

  1.  Send a request for endorsement to our Political Director, Melissa Rubio, at melissa@oavotes.org. Ensure to include "Requesting Endorsement of OAV" in the subject line.
  2.  Complete Candidate Questionnaire
  3.  Candidate Interviewed by Grassroots Leaders
  4.  Candidate Notified and Endorsements Announced

OneAmerica Votes’ endorsement process is led by grassroots leaders from immigrant and refugee communities across Washington State. Our leaders interview candidates regarding issues important to their communities, evaluate the candidate responses and make recommendations to the OneAmerica Votes Board of Directors for review and affirmation.
