Endorsement Process
Co-govern with OneAmerica Votes
As a statewide organization, OneAmerica Votes makes endorsements with the goal of increasing the power and voice of immigrant and refugee communities in government. To be endorsed by OneAmerica Votes, candidates must demonstrate their commitment to work alongside us and deliver on the issues most important to our communities. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate alignment with OneAmerica Votes’ Platform for a Thriving Home for all immigrants — regardless of immigration status.
Our endorsement process is led by grassroots leaders from immigrant and refugee communities across Washington State. They interview candidates regarding issues important to their communities, evaluate the candidate responses and make recommendations to the OneAmerica Votes Board of Directors for review and affirmation. We are mindful of how we allocate our resources across Washington State which means not every candidate requesting an endorsement will get an interview.
2025 Endorsement Calendar
Note: The timeline provided below is tentative and subject to change. More details will be provided as they become available.
April 25, 2025: Candidate questionnaire released.
May 23, 2025: Deadline for candidate questionnaires to be received.
June 2025: Endorsement interviews.
August 2025: Second round of endorsement interviews (if needed).

Process for First-Time Seeking Endorsement of OAV
1) Request
Send a request for endorsement by filling out our inquiry form & questionnaire.
2) Strategic Review
Community leaders, OAV board members and staff review all requests and decide who to invite into the process.
3) Interview
Candidates will be interviewed by our community leaders, members, and OAV board and staff.
4) Notification
Candidates who have been endorsed will be notified via email or phone.
5) Announcement
Endorsements are announced across OAV digital platforms.
Process for Previously Endorsed Candidates
1) Request
Send a request for endorsement by filling out our inquiry form & questionnaire. Indicate that you’re a past OAV endorsed candidate.
2) Strategic Review
Community leaders, OAV board members and staff review all requests and decide who to invite into the process.
3) Interview
Candidates may be interviewed by our community leaders, members, and OAV board and staff. We will reach out if an interview is needed.
4) Notification
Candidates who have been endorsed will be notified via email or phone.
5) Announcement
Endorsements are announced across OAV digital platforms.
